Elections for Executive Committee (2023-2025)
The ELSA Association was set up and registered on 23rd June 2014 by ELSA Members
Elections to vote in the 5th Executive Committee of the ELSA Association will be held between Sept 19 9 a.m. and 22nd September 12 noon, and results will be announced at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 23rd September 2023.
Please go through the Election Schedule and other details if you wish to stand as a Candidate to be elected as a Member of the Executive Committee. The entire Election process – application for candidature, nominations, approval, list of candidates and their profiles, and voting will be conducted online.

1. Who can be an Executive Committee Member?
- Any ELSA Member who has fully paid her Membership fee and received her Membership Number can contest the election for EC Membership.
- Any ELSA Member who can
- represent the values of our community,
- is committed to its goals, (both the serious ones and the fun ones)
- is committed to working as a team for the full term of two years
- and can make the time to take the work forward.
2. Process of Application:
- The Candidate must complete the Application Form (Closed)
- The candidate must be nominated by a Proposer who is a lifetime member and seconded by another Lifetime member after completing the form
- The Election Officer will review and approve the Application
- The Candidate will be informed by email and can update her Campaign Page
- List of Candidates will be posted by the Election Officer on the website
- In the event that there is any objection by any ELSA Member to the Candidature, the Election Officer will notify the Candidate and seek explanation
- Final List of Candidates will be posted by the Election Officer on the website

Note: There may be more be than 1 candidate per Category
- An ELSA Member can propose up to two Candidates for Membership to the EC, and
- An ELSA Member can second the nominations of up two Candidates for Membership to the EC
Mr Rakesh Munjal has been invited to be the Election Officer to conduct the Elections for Executive Committee 2023-2025, and has accepted. He and an Election Team nominated by him will conduct the Election independently of the current Executive Committee, and with the requisite confidentiality and neutrality as outlined in the Bye-laws.

- All members will receive announcements through email and this website
- Only Lifetime ELSA Members are entitled to vote to elect members of the Executive Committee
- A Member whose subscription is in arrears shall not be entitled to vote and if she votes her vote shall not be counted.
- No Member can cast her vote more than once
- Every Member can vote for up to 11 Candidates when she casts her vote
- Members are encouraged to cast their vote for at least 1 Candidate per category (see Candidate Categories) to ensure representation across generations of alumni
- Members are requested to use the online voting process which will be active from 0900 hrs IST Sept 19, 2023 till 12 noon IST on Sept 22, 2023. This can be done easily by checking the radio button next to the Candidates’ names in the List of Candidates
- Members are encouraged to vote with integrity for Candidates who they genuinely believe will add value and work towards furthering the Objectives of the Association
- Results of selected candidates for the Executive Committee will be announced at the AGM
- Members will be advised of the Results by email and on the Website by Monday 25th September 2023
- The incoming Executive Committee will elect their office bearers within two weeks of being elected and these results will be announced through email, and on the Website
Q1:. Who can vote?
A1: Life members, who have paid the life time fee, and have their sign-in creds and a membership number.
Q2.: Date and time of voting:
A2: Voting period 19 September 2023 (9am) - 22 September 2021(12 noon)
Q3. Is it mandatory to vote for 11 candidates, or can you vote for fewer numbers?
A3: 11 is the max. You can vote for less than 11.
Q4. Can you vote in batches, say for 4 persons on one day and 8 days on another?
A4 No, you are allowed to vote only once. Once you have started voting, you cannot login again to vote. Your sign-in creds can only be used once

Q6: When will results be announced?
A6: During the AGM on Sept 23th 2023.
Q7: How do I attend this AGM?
A7: You will need to register on this link. (Link will be activated on scheduled date) You will get an email confirming your registration. You will have to login between 10 am - 10.15 am to enable registering your presence for the meeting.
Q8: What is the time and duration of AGM?
A8: Time: Sep 23, 2021 10:00 AM. Usually, AGMs take one hour or a little more. Please budget more time!
Q9: How soon can people get their membership number and access to voting? If they register by Monday morning, will their membership be processed by Tuesday?
A9: No. Registration has a turnaround time of 4-5 days. Membership processing will be in a hiatus for two weeks before the elections. .
