ELSA and WISCOMP ( Women in Security, Conflict Management and Peace) presented an insightful discussion at the second ELSA Talk on 9th Dec, at IHC, Delhi.

Stimulating panel led by Vinita Nangia, Shruti Nada Poddar and Rakesh Kapoor was moderated by Vinita Sethi, EC ELSA.

  • Vinita Nangia is a senior Editor with The Times of India. She has a weekly column ‘O-zone’ in the TOI Sunday supplement, Times Life.
  • Rakesh is the researcher, writer, editor and founder-managing trustee of Alternative Futures, a development research and communication group and Consulting Editor of Futures: the journal of policy, planning and futures studies.
  • Shruti (ELSA) is a musician, healer, cultural exponent and educationist, and pioneer of the vibration and sound healing ecosystem called Nada Vibronics. She has been recently appointed as Chairperson of PHDCCI Rajasthan.

Associate Professor of English at LSR, Dipti Nath's areas of academic interest include Visuality, Gender Studies and Popular Culture.

Under the aegis of WISCOMP, Dipti presented the invigorating 'Reimaging frames of empowerment" that documents a comprehensive exploration, collation and analysis of the altered discourse and altered perception and imaging of women within varied media discourses- examples from Bollywood films, advertisements, television and social media post 2012.
