4th Annual General Meeting
The Association held its 4th Annual General Meeting on September 09, 2017 at the Manju Bharat Ram Conference Room. Dr. Suman Sharma was at the venue from early morning personally supervising the placement of plants for the Meeting. The Association is ever grateful to Dr. Sharma for the keen and personal interest she takes to make the Association Members always feel welcome in the college.
It was good to see the Members turn up for the Meeting with great enthusiasm, sharing their views, giving valuable inputs to make the Association a stronger and effective body.
Since this was the year of elections for the Executive Committee (EC), members of the outgoing and incoming EC were present at the meeting. The report for the activities conducted by the Association through the year was read out to the Members.
Annual Dinner 2016
Since the last AGM, the Association hosted two Annual Dinners, on September 10, 2016 and August 19, 2017. Both the Dinners were a resounding success.
Last year’s Dinner showcased the “ELSA Effect” and was attended by more than 400 ELSAs, each making an impact in her environment – each giving a different meaning to the term “ELSA Effect”. And this is what makes us ELSAs so special – a community of strong, spirited, powerful women, holding on to our own and striving to make a difference.
NGO Mela
Continuing with the theme of “ELSA Effect”, the Association organized the 1st ELSA NGO Mela on February 11, 2017 at the Chinmaya Mission. The concept of a NGO Mela was conceived to further the objectives for which the Association has been created. There were 42 NGOs and social enterprises participating. The venue donned a festive spirit befitting a Mela and the ELSA spirit was dominant.
The Mela was organised with the help of the sponsorship funds that we had raised for the Annual Dinner. It was inaugurated by Mr. Arun Bharat Ram and our other guests of honour were, Mr. Nadir Patel (High Commissioner, Canada), Dr. Suman Sharma (Principal LSR) and Padma Shri Laila Tyabji (Chairperson, Dastkar Society for Crafts & Craftspeople). Shivani Wazir Pasrich was the emcee. There was a fund-raising auction of the creations of Rajesh Pratap Singh, Basic Design, Loom Tree, Rangasutra and Meraki. The funds raised were given to the organizations identified by the successful bidders. All in all it was a day of giving and a satisfying day indeed!
