Bangalore Chapter |
Baithak in Bangalore
Malvika Nirajan and Chandrima Sanyal Dutta took turns to bring alive the camaraderie of hanging out in the front lawns of LSR under a starlit sky, and the nostalgia of prepping for Tarang.
They handled Sufi numbers, the qawwalis, the ghazals and retro Bollywood numbers with such proficiency, that the pictures above do no justice to how enthralled the audience became! It is no surprise then, that a few of us couldn’t help but break into a jig as the numbers got peppy. . But for the most part, the talented duo created an evening full of divine soul-searching and beautiful music which left us craving for more.
Assisted by dimly lit lights, easy cushions, talented accompanists like Surya Upadhyay on the Harmonium and Karthik Bhat on the tabla, we had achieved a state of musical bonhomie at this Baithak in Bangalore. As the notes of ‘Aaj jaane ki zid na karo’ filled the air, none of us wanted the evening to end.
The sweetness lingers in our mouths from Madhuri Hingorani’s cakes and the spring in our step and liveliness of our spirits resonates...

Mumbai Chapter |
ELSA Mumbai Annual Dinner held on December 8th at Auriga Lounge in Lower Parel was a smashing success! The tone for the evening was set with participation at an all time high and the alumni in a mood to party.
There was cake cutting, champagne and much dancing. Conversation was direct and brutal(!) dancing uninhibited and company sparkling like the bubbly! What an evening of unadulterated fun and celebrating the ELSA sisterhood! |
