ELSA Alumni Association – Executive Committee Election 14th September 2019
|
The big day is coming up! The action starts on the 16th of July and culminates on the 14th of September 2019 with the elections for the third elected Executive Committee of the ELSA Association, and the 5th Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Details of the Election Schedule and Process will be communicated to you directly by the Election Officer and will be made available on the ELSA website- www.lsralumna.org on 1st of July 2019. You may then check it out to see how and when you can apply to be an EC Member, and how you can vote for the team of your choice. Standing for the elections to the Executive Committee and voting are both big responsibilities, as it is the EC that takes forward our mandate and objectives and helps build our strong community.
Standing for the elections and voting requires you to be a Member of the Association. Please do sign up and also encourage your batch mates and friends who are alumni to enrol as members, so that we have a dynamic group of ELSAs!

ELSA OPEN MIC |
ELSA Bangalore chapter hosted its first Open Mic event on the 19th of May which brought forth eleven ELSAs who shared their writings – varied in style and genre from thought-provoking poetry, to satire, serious non-fiction prose, and even stand-up comedy! The ELSAs were so enthusiastic that a few who were travelling sent in their work to be read out and a couple who had not planned on participating got encouraged by the enthusiasm, the encouragement, and the safety that the ELSA sisterhood provides, to jump in with a last minute desire to participate. Everyone left on a high with calls for another such event. The best part thought was, that this event managed to motivate some new ELSAs to experience our love and madness. Hopefully they will decide to be more active in our community going forward.
The participants were:
• Binu Mullick – English‘77
• Ganga Krishnakumar- English '91
• Gulshan Walia – Eco '96

ELSA Canada |
9th June 2019
On a sunny Sunday morning on the 9th of June, a group of 17 Elsas initiated the getting together of the ELSA Canada group in Toronto. The Elsa spirit was shining through across the globe as they bonded over brunch at Red Square, a charming eatery in Mississauga.
ELSA Association Vice-President Nelofar Currimbhoy was in Canada to experience this beginning! "I loved being there at the first meeting. Was an absolute delight. Felt as though I was in the college canteen ... the Elsa spirit was shining through so strongly.”
