Global Mentoring Walk |
Delhi , March 10, 2018
The Global Mentoring Walk saw an enthusiastic turnout from the ELSA Alumni network, FICCI FLO, YFLO and ARCH Academy Alumni at the National Crafts Museum in New Delhi on a very pleasant Saturday morning on the 10th of March, 2018. India’s former ambassador to the US Ma’am Meera Shankar was our special guest and mentor. She joined over 50 women professionals and entrepreneurs from various walks of life for an invigorating and thought provoking morning to commemorate International Women’s Day. The importance of mentoring for women in all walks, and all stages of life was reinforced, as Mentors and Mentees paired up and spent the morning exchanging experiences, advice, bonding and bonhomie. The walk was followed by a delicious and healthy breakfast at Café Lota!
Some quotes from the Walk
•Sudeep Kohli, Writer & LSR Alumni
What is great about the FICCI FLO Vital Voices Global Mentoring Walk is that, we women come together for a purpose, but without the pressure and formality of business. Here, while walking along together in nature, we naturally connect to each other's ideas that expand our vision, and of all that we can be. Thank you ELSA for bringing us together!
•Tina Rajan, Graphic Designer & LSR Alumni
Loved being a part of the Mentoring Walk and interacting with so many inspiring women. The idea itself is very positive and doable, to meet and network over a morning walk. In sharing with my mentor, I realised we had a lot of common challenges and realistic strategies came up with positive takeaways.
•Sumita Ghose, Founder Rangsutra Crafts India Ltd.
An energising morning! With dynamic independent visionary women turning dreams to reality !
•Vinita Sethi, Head Corp affairs at Apollo Hospitals group and President LSR Alumni Association
Empowered women empower other women!
•Tamali Sengupta, Lawyer & LSR Alumni
Vital Voices and FLO Mentoring was a refreshing event with a unique opportunity to connect with many accomplished women. Hope there is a follow up event to share the experiences of the group.
•Smita Mankad, Vital Voices (Fortune, GAP & VV100)
The Vital Voices Global Mentoring Walk is an amazing platform to bring together women from all walks of life, to network in a fun and informal way. It not just expands their horizons but builds relationships for life. FICCI FLO, Arch Academy of Design and the LSR Alumni Association brought together 3 powerhouse groups of women whose impact will be exponential! Looking forward to a growing community of women mentoring women.

LSR alumni meet over Tapas at Washington DC |
It was a wonderful bonding over Tapas as LSR alumni Bindiya, Varsha Ramani, Naira Kalra, Sukanya Sen, Priyadarshini Seth and Vinita Sethi met at Washington DC. It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm of our young alumni and we discussed ways to strengthen network with ELSAs based in US. A lot of nostalgia and heart warming to see how our alumni globally want to connect back with college and join the ELSA network
We do hope to connect with many more over the coming months. We are working on some formalities and clearances and will be in a position to reach out to all our alumni abroad in a few months when all clearances for subscriptions are in place.
Until then pl do share our social media handles and Post with all ELSAS known to you. #StrengthenELSANetwork.

ELSA Chapter Mumbai |
March was a busy month for ELSA Mumbai with two big events. The first was a workshop on gender identities, roles and responsibilities conducted by the expert Ms Priyanka Awasthi, CEO Cormorant Consulting Group. Held on March 15, the venue was the office of Scient Capital in Lower Parel. It was an evening of much debate, discussion and deliberation. The Blue Sky project is on!
The inaugural Women's Forum hosted by Facebook and The Economic Times at the Trident Hotel, Nariman Point on March 16th witnessed the participation of several Elsas. Ms Neeti Chopra, Brand Director, The Economic Times warmly received the LSR alumni community. From being on the panel, to being moderators, to being part of a select audience- Elsas made their presence felt everywhere!
Mumbai is definitely a second home for LSR!

ELSA Writers |
Akanksha Sharma (2012 batch of Journalism) is the Founder and Editor-in-chief of an online magazine called Indspire Me. The website actually started as a hobby for Akanksha in 2016, while she was working on a full-time job. Some brainstorming, purchasing a domain name and a WordPress premium plan, and Indspire Me was launched.
Akanksha soon realised that online media platforms are only interested in covering people who are a proven success. "We can learn a lot more from people who are two steps ahead of us, than people who are twenty steps ahead of us." Consequently many of the inspiring interviews that are featured on Indspire Me, are really about unsung heroes. There is the visually challenged Binni Kumari, who works as a Helpdesk Operations Manager at Score Foundation, and then there is Benita Sen, an animal lover and a supporter of environmental conservation and sustainability, whose books have been presented to Michelle Obama, and many more such inspiring stories of amazing women.
You can access the website here: www.indspireme.in. You can follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
